The fifth edition of Current Obsession Paper will be released during Munich Jewellery Week, 11-17 March 2019.
The Paper features our beloved recurring column Must-See List. This year we’ve asked four industry experts – Sofia Björkman, an artist and the owner of Gallery Platina in Stockholm; Anneleen Swillen, a curator, artist, writer and PhD candidate based in Ghent; Lars Sture, an Oslo-based artist and curator at Norwegian Crafts; and Namita Gupta Wiggers, an educator, curator and researcher based in Portland, Oregon – to share their general impressions of the upcoming MJW programme.
Inside the Paper you will also find an interview with Karen Pontoppidan, internationally renowned artist and educator. In the interview Pontoppidan discusses her recent curatorial undertaking – SCHMUCKISMUS exhibition at the Pinakothek der Moderne.
Our Cover Story created by visual artist and designer Audrey Large, is a feast for the eye and the imagination. It features digitally rendered and altered jewellery by Aaron Patrick Decker, Colombe d’Humieres, Veronika Fabian, Hiyu Hamasaki, and Siteng Wei.
In a new feature Artist in the Spotlight, you will find interviews and articles with young and upcoming artists, Hansel Tai, Maxime Leblanc, Florian Weichsberger and Kalkidan Hoex.
