A Swelling of the Ground
Group Exhibition, Blutenburgstraße 59
Marina Elenskaya (Creative Director): ‘This exhibition examines sand and brick – everyday materials that are easily taken for granted. Here they are handled with care and transformed into precious objects. I’m a huge fan of thoughtful and careful practices of Saskia Van der Gucht, Irma Földényi, Saskia van Es and Elise Howbeke. In their own, very gentle way, they are making a dent in what we consider contemporary adornment.’

FEAST
Group Exhibition, Tragbar, Zenettistraße 33
Marina Elenskaya (Creative Director): ‘A profound and poetic exhibition by a group of Tallinn based artists Eve Margus, Piret Hirv, Erle Nemvalts, and Taavi Teevet. The work that comes out of Estonia never disappoints, especially if you think of such star-studded constellation of principal mentors and teaching staff of the Estonian Academy of Arts, nourishing a new generation of jewellery artists. A must see!’

Ooze
Solo Exhibition, Kunstgießerei München GmbH, Schleißheimer Str. 72
Veronika Muráriková (Digital Publishing): ‘I can’t wait to be seduced by Olaf Hodnes’ stone carving work again. The glossy, vibrant surfaces and simple, organic forms carry a distinct Scandinavian stillness, yet packed with emotion—something you don’t come across every day. So hyped to see his first solo show outside of Norway!’

Lin Lang – The Chinese Story of Jewellery Art
Group Exhibition, Galerie Shanghai, Herrnstraße 13
Margaret Munchheimer (MJW Paper Editor): ‘I love jade. And I love shows with a very clear theme, like a materials exploration. The work in this show looks to be thoughtful and poetic and I love the incorporation of the sound that jade makes into the title. For me it’s interesting to see a collection of artists from one school, and absorb a little of how they approach the work. Particularly once they are well past their formative years and a bit further into their career, to see what (if anything) remains from the foundations.’

Group Exhibition, Dachauer Str. 54
Vivian Morad (MJW Project Manager ): ‘Natural material, human-made? I am very intrigued by Sofie Boons’ research on lab-grown gems, the new possibilities they create, and their impact on our world and society. The exhibition explores the questions that arise when rethinking value, status, and prejudice.’

Precious.Collective presents: ‘Chaos & Control’
Group Exhibition, Schulstraße 27
Aneta Marešová (MJW Intern): ‘Chaos & Control by Precious.Collective is definitely one of the highlights on my list. This international group of jewellery artists is known for their playful, thought-provoking approach, and I’m particularly curious to see how they explore a theme so rich with contrasts—where precision meets spontaneity, and structure meets disorder. I expect unexpected materials, daring forms, and plenty of food for thought.
I love exhibitions that challenge the boundaries of jewellery, and I have a feeling this one will do just that. With so many different voices coming together, I can’t wait to see the conversations that unfold through their work.
One of many must-sees this week!’
