CO: What ideas or themes inspire your work?
CWH: Romanticism, a time when creativity and imagination that transcend rules were highly celebrated. My fascination with botanical jewellery reflects a profound interest in nature and an ongoing challenge to unravel its mysteries. Similarly, I’m inspired by how today’s AI creators are using algorithms and machine learning to craft unique artworks. These two are parallel inspirations, driving me to embrace both innovation and the wonders of nature in my work.
Drawing inspiration from nineteenth-century Romanticism, my creations pay homage to the celebration of creativity and the mysteries of nature.
CO: How do you envision the future of the field you have chosen and your practice within it?

CO: Could you describe your approach, and how does it reflect tradition, current trends or push boundaries within the field?
CWH: In my approach to jewellery design, I aim to beautifully marry tradition, current trends, and boundary-pushing innovation. Drawing inspiration from nineteenth-century Romanticism, my creations pay homage to the celebration of creativity and the mysteries of nature. I integrate futuristic and eco-friendly elements through AI, modelling, and metal 3D printing, addressing contemporary sustainability concerns and technological advancements. This approach pushes the boundaries of traditional jewellery design by offering not just adornment, but a fusion of art and technology. Features that interact with body movements elevate the experience of wearing my jewellery, aligning with modern desires for versatility and engagement.
