The playful blowing of bubbles liberates people from everyday oppressions
by disturbing the rational and recapturing childhood memories. Gabriella
aims to explore those memories, drawing on her interest in illusion
to create these mischievous pieces. Using traditional and modern
materials – beads, silicone (for the headpieces), cultured pearls, and
precious and non-precious metals – she allows the familiar to become
unfamiliar, inviting new concepts of what jewellery is and can become.
