SO MINT! GRANDMOTHER OF CATS – DRESSED DRUNK BY HANNA LINNÉA RYD

GRANDMOTHER OF CATS – dressed drunk is a collection of compulsively hoarded and material-sourced waste ‘goods’ that addresses how placing something of low value in ‘the fine salon’ changes its perception, making the onlooker read it as something unexpected and unseen.

Collected and assembled from different Swedish waste streams, the work attempts to create awareness of value in discarded post-consumer high- and low-status materials.

By re-contextualizing these objects into new wearable hybrids, GRANDMOTHER OF CATS – dressed drunk proposes a substitute for things shiny and new in fashion designs.
