The shape, color and structure of the stone lead her forward in the jewellery making process and the pieces find their shape through cutting, carving, sanding and polishing the stones. Creating jewellery from a found natural stone works for her as a metaphor for what it is to exist as a human being, as oneself. This becomes visible in the simple forms, solutions and in allowing the material to be what it is. By working with found natural stone she also makes a statement about value and sustainability, and questions the common use of gemstones. For her the most precious things in life are found closer than we think.
