The incense holder is hand-sculpted from hot glass. It is made in the Glasbolaget studio, which operates a furnace powered by landfill gas. The raw material is recycled glass from the glass production industry.
On the bottom of the holder, the letters EKB are burned into the surface, creating an optical illusion visible from both the side and the top of the incense holder.

‘I am drawn to aesthetics that are synthetic and artificial, a contrast to my upbringing where the forest was my backyard. The process in the glass studio is a big part of my artistry. It’s like a combination of meditation and an eight hour rave. Often the process gets to determine the final object, but can be redone afterwards. A sculpture may reheat, collapse, flatten. The process is quick and intuitive.’
